We offer many different types of classes here at the Drake School of Irish Dance - Asheville. Please see below to learn more about the different offerings and how to get involved. 


Beginning irish

This class is for all beginners. You don't need to have any experience to join, just a love for Irish Dance and be willing to learn!

This class meets Mondays from 4:30 - 5:15pm and is counted as 1 Hour of Dance per week.  

Intermediate irish 

This class is for those who have moved out of Beginning Irish or have a little previous experiences.

This class meets Mondays from 4:30-6:00pm and is counted as 1.5 Hours of Dance per week. 

advanced irish

This class is for our more advanced dancers. Dancers will move up to this class when the instructors and dancer believe that they are ready.

This class meets twice a week on Mondays from 6:00-7:30 and Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00. Dancers have the option of taking this class for one day or both days. If dancers only attend one class it is counted as 1.5 hours. If dancers attended both classes it is counted as 3 hours.  


Private Lessons

Ms. Heather teaches private lessons at the Asheville location. Please contact her directly at for private lesson rates. Miss Amanda is also available for private lessons on the Asheville workshop days.  Please contact her directly at for private lesson rates.


Once a month, Amanda Carpenter comes up from Atlanta to hold mandatory workshops for our upper level dancers. During these workshops our dancers learn their choreography for upcoming competitions and learn new steps.
