Welcome to the Drake School of Irish Dance in Asheville

The Drake School of Irish Dance is one of the most prestigious Irish dance schools in the United States.  The school was founded in 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia by Dublin, Ireland-native, Karl Drake, TCRG.  Since its beginning, the Drake School of Irish Dance has branched out across the Southern United States.  After establishing itself in five Southern States, the Drake School went global, expanding internationally into Mexico and China.

The Drake School of Irish Dance at the Asheville Performing Arts Academy is the North Carolina location for the Drake School of Irish Dance and grew out of The Gallagher School of Irish Dance, founded by Heather Gallagher.  Heather Gallagher, owner of the Asheville Performing Arts Academy, has been an Irish dancer since childhood and continues to teach Irish dance at The Drake School of Irish Dance at the Asheville Performing Arts Academy.
